Here we are, already in love with our friends, obsessed the
food (and drinks), hypnotized by the locals accents, and attending Uni… you
know, just doing as the Aussies do. This week has flown by so fast that all we
can do is look at pictures to be reminded of all the memories we made. Our
first week of Uni (college) is officially under our belt. So far, classes are
actually not that bad, besides the no air conditioning… but hey, who gets to
say they’ve gone to school in a different country and had Aussie professors? We
can! Adri and I both have pretty easy schedules, which is very nice compared to
the some our other friends. I’ll break it down for you… just think of going to
one class each day, except for Thursday and sometimes Friday. That’s how easy
it is! Those days we don’t have classes are designated as “family day”, where we spend the day at the
beach or in the city with our group of friends. This past week we spent the day
in St. Kilda soaking up the sun and enjoying a few pitchers of sangria with our
friends Zoey, Jesse, and Keith. Lets just say, it was well worth the sunburn
that we all came back with!
Moving on to the weekend, I must say, was the best
time we’ve had in so long! Not just because it was my (Lauren) 20th
birthday, but also because we got to spend the weekend with some of our new
best friends at the Crown Hotel (fun fact: the most visited place in the
southern hemisphere)! We started our Friday morning off with a little shopping,
and then it was time to make our way to the city for an eventful evening. Those
extra curricular activities may have included stuffing our faces with delicious
food, popping a bottle of Champaign (compliments of the hotel), and without a
doubt, dancing the night away! But for real though, it could not have been a
better way to spend my birthday weekend :)
Well folks, it’s another week to go
through the classes at the great place we call home. Stay tuned for our awesome
adventures that we have planned this coming week!
