Oh my goodness, this is happening! That is the repeating thought in my head. I am overwhelmed with excitement but plenty nervous! I'm worried that I am not going to pack well enough, I am dreading a 15 hour flight, I don't know how the adjustment is going to be, what if we don't know where to go when we land, what if my mom gives away my dog?! There are so many worries! I keep grounding myself with the basics, well the basic, I AM MOVING TO AUSTRALIA AND IT IS GOING TO BE AWESOME!
I have tried to keep my "bucket list" close I find it is the easiest way to relax when I can't decide how much shampoo to pack. These are just a few items on my bucket list!
I have tried to keep my "bucket list" close I find it is the easiest way to relax when I can't decide how much shampoo to pack. These are just a few items on my bucket list!
- Go down the great ocean road and see the 12 Apostles.
- Outback and animals! When telling people about my upcoming adventure they all have something to say about the Australian wildlife! Especially kangaroos, koalas, and crocodiles! I am absolutely pumped up about seeing the real outback!
My cousin had a friend in Australia who said when you camp in the outback you have to get water out of different parts of the river because when you go once the crocs will wait on you to go there again! Camping in the outback isn't necessarily on my bucket list..
- Pictures, pictures, pictures! I got this camera for Christmas this year just for going abroad! I am very excited to use it, although intimidated by its features! I am glad that Lauren knows about photography and can help me!
- Make life long friends.
- Blend in! I hope that by the time we leave we can blend in and not look like touristy Americans!
Insert Lauren and Adri here
- Bungie jump off the Sydney Harbor!
- Do good in class! I'm serious, Mom! I am going to always remember although we are Australia we are taking classes!
- Go to the opera, duh!
- Food, I want to try everything except shark fin soup because I watched a little to much shark week! (They cut the fin off the shark and drop him back in the water still alive!)
- Drive on the wrong side of the road on the wrong side of the car!
- Keep in touch with my friends and family at home! I will not neglect my friendships from home! Either a tweet, a Skype call I PLEDGE to keep in touch! The trip will not be worth it if I come home and don't have any friends to annoy by talking about my semester in Australia! ;)
- Keep up with this blog! Lauren and I are going to try to post often and keep it interesting!
I defiantly stole some of these from the list Lauren posted on Instagram a while ago so here is a picture of hers to give her credit!
Adri- remember there is one more! ;) I will even provide the bail money. haha I want the Sydney sign.
